The Lobethal Football Club was established in 1901 and is affiliated with the Hills Football League.

The LFC is a local community based club offering first class facilities for the playing of Australian Rules Football. Our Junior Football Squads include Auskick Clinics, Under 8’s, 9’s, 10’s, 11’s, 14’s, 16’s and 18’s. Our Senior Squads include Div 1 A Grade, Div 1 B Grade and Div 3 C Grade.

We have had considerable recent success on the field in the last 20 years. Between 1996 and 2006 we competed 5 A Grade Grand Finals for 3 Premierships.

Original ground: North eastern corner of the junction of Lobethal and Neudorf Roads, 2 kilometres west of Lobethal.

Original Colours: Chocolate and Brown. (Horizontal stripes). Changed to yellow and black in about 1922.

During the first world war, Lobethal Football Club name was changed to Tweedvale Football Club as a part of the Government initiative on using English and not German names. (eg. Blumberg became Birdwood and remained that) Lobethal renamed during the 1920’s.
